How To Take CBD Oil From A Dropper?

This may seem like an obvious question but there like many other aspects of this hobby, this is nuanced, and doing it the right way requires that you know more. In this short guide, we’ll answer some of the most important questions around CBD oil and droppers.

How To Take CBD Oil From A Dropper?

The most important question, answered in three simple steps.

Step 1: Fill the dropper with the required dosage (the dropper should have markings to make it easier).

Step 2: Squeeze out the CBD oil under your tongue but don’t swallow just yet.

Step 3: Most experts recommend letting the oil sit underneath your tongue for 30-90 seconds before swallowing to help absorption.

In addition, it’s also recommended that you eat something after taking your CBD oil. Although you can take it before it as well. What’s important is that you don’t forget to eat something as taking CBD oil without food in your stomach hinders absorption which means you’re less likely to experience the full range of benefits.

How to figure out CBD dosage?

If you don’t know your CBD dosage, a very safe place to start with is 8mg. That said, if you have been taking CBD oil and are used to the effects, starting with a slightly higher dosage will be okay too. The 8.33mg dosage translates to 1ml of CBD oil tincture which is one full dropper. Note that this is with 250mg concentration.

The dosage scales proportionally for higher concentrations but here’s a helpful table for all common concentrations.

1ml – 16.66mg500mgEntirely

Should I take a full dropper of CBD oil?

Another common question we get is if it’s okay to have an entire dropper of CBD oil at once. The answer is yes. A typical dropper holds around 20 drops of CBD oil which means even if you fill up your dropper with 1000mg CBD oil, the dosage will only be 33mg which is well within the safe daily limits

That said, if you’re uncomfortable with taking CBD oil directly, you can infuse the oil into a variety of food products and eat them according to your ideal dosage. Just use the dropper to calculate and track your daily CBD intake.

Does it matter what dropper I purchase?

Finally, as long as you’ve purchased a good quality dropper that you would not interact with the CBD oil in any manner and is well-built, you’re good to go.
